Jon Gruden is now the heavy favorite to be the next football coach for the Tennessee Volunteers.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach initially opened at +2,000 to take over the program, which indicates it wasn’t very likely.

Gruden, who currently works at ESPN, now sits at +250 to be Butch Jones’ replacement. That means a bettor will make $250 dollars on every $100 they bet on Gruden to be the next coach. The next closest candidate is Chip Kelly at +400.

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but it honestly is beginning to look like Gruden will be coaching again. Two weeks ago there was no way I would have believed it. Now, we’re sitting here and the oddsmakers have him as the favorite.

What a wild time to be a college football fan.
