Lane Kiffin recently sent a tweet that’ll have people questioning whether or not he’ll be the next head coach of the Florida Gators football team.

The former Alabama offensive coordinator tweeted a picture of clouds with the words, “BETTER THINGS ARE COMING,” a few minutes after word broke Florida had fired Jim McElwain.

Kiffin, who currently is the head coach at Florida Atlantic University, clearly has the ambition to get back to major college football. You don’t go from being the head coach at USC, Tennessee and the Oakland Raiders to being satisfied by coaching at FAU.

I’d be shocked if Kiffin is still coaching at FAU in the next six months. There are too many jobs that will likely be open for him to take a shot at. There’s no doubt he’s a offensive genius, even if he has had problems dog him off of the field.

Kiffin is also known for stirring the pot on Twitter, which is why I don’t think this is an accident. He knew exactly what he was doing when he hit the send button. A Kiffin regime in Gainesville could be legendary. It could also be a hilarious failure.
