Another weekend of football gambling has come and gone, and we’re back on a downward swing.

We entered the weekend holding steady at 21-19 through the first eight weeks. Not doing great, but our heads were above water. In the gambling world that’s all you can ask for. Well, it’s safe to say things took a major turn for the worse this weekend.

It was borderline a gambling apocalypse. For those of you who forget, these were my picks going into Saturday:

Wisconsin (-26) vs. Illinois: LOSS

Ohio State vs. Penn State (+6): WIN

Michigan State (-2) vs. Northwestern: LOSS

Washington State (-3) vs. Arizona: LOSS

Texas A&M (Pick Em’) vs. Mississippi State: LOSS

Just like that we’re back underwater, and things aren’t going well at all.

A 22-23 record this late in the season isn’t cause for concern, but it’s not a great sign. One week we’re flying high, popping bottles of champagne and enjoying our winnings. We’re throwing around money like an African dictator.

The next week we’re emptying out the bank accounts to cover a 1-4 Saturday. It’s cruel. In a matter of seven days we go from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows.

Life as a degenerate gambler is a wild journey. Stay tuned because I sense a big bounce back coming this Saturday.
