The average ticket price to game seven of the World Series will run you nearly $1,700.

ESPN reporter Darren Rovell tweeted Wednesday morning, “$1,678: Avg price paid on @VividSeats for Game 7 of the World Series tonight, prices falling with a lot of supply in marketplace.”

The shocking part of that tweet is, “prices falling with a lot of supply in marketplace.” How much would they cost if there wasn’t “a lot of supply” floating around there? That’s a lot of money for a single ticket to anything. I’m pretty sure you can get a ticket on a cruise ship for cheaper than $1,678.

The danger with any situation like this is you could drop a ton of money, and then turn around to watch your team get smoked. Refunds aren’t offered because your team lost. You just get to eat the cost, and then be in a bad mood the rest of the night. On the other hand, $1,678 is nothing in the big picture if your team wins game seven of the World Series, and you’re in the house. It’s just something you have to roll the dice on.
