Locations for the 2021-2024 college football national champion games were recently released, and they’re all awful.

The sites are as follows:

2021: Miami-South Florida (Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Fla.)

2022: Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana)

2023: Los Angeles (Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park, Inglewood, Calif.)

2024: Houston (NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas)

Everything about these sites absolutely sucks. It’s awful, and there’s no way around it. One of the worst things about college bowls is the fact they’re almost always played in warm weather cities. I’m not even complaining about warm weather sites favoring teams from the SEC, Big 12, ACC and PAC 12. It’s just stupid because football is supposed to be dirty and brutal in the winter months. That’s were the men are separated from the boys.

Obviously warm weather sites are better for drawing fans and making money. However, I’d be more than willing to sacrifice some money if it meant we could get a national championship in an outdoor stadium in the northern region of America.

Wisconsin gets brutally cold in January. Imagine a national championship game played under the lights when it’s below zero. That would be the stuff of legends. Instead, the NCAA rushes off to warm cities or domes. It’s such a soft move. Bring me the snow, freezing temperatures and I promise we’ll find out who the real players are.

These sites all blow, and they’ll continue to blow until a championship game is held in a location with freezing cold temperatures and snow.
