The first trailer for Michael Shannon’s upcoming comedy “Pottersville” was released late Thursday, and this Bigfoot comedy looks pretty entertaining.

The plot of the film, according to the YouTube description, is, “The plot centers on Maynard (Shannon), a beloved local businessman who is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot during an inebriated romp through town in a makeshift gorilla costume. The sightings set off an international Bigfoot media spectacle and a windfall of tourism dollars for a simple American town hit by hard times.”

The trailer portrays the movie as a quirky comedy, which is probably the best way to be taken seriously if you’re approaching the topic of Bigfoot.

This movie is either going to be awesome or it’s going to be awful. I’m not really sure at this point. These things are always a crapshoot when it comes to the initial trailer.

However, I find it hard to believe a movie with Michael Shannon and Ian McShane won’t be solid.

“Pottersville” doesn’t have an official release date yet.
