UFC president Dana White recently discussed the possibility of former NFL player Greg Hardy joining the fighting league.

Hardy was convicted of brutally beating a woman a couple years ago, but the conviction was later overturned. The former Dallas Cowboys defensive end has now been focused on getting into the fighting game.

However, it might not be as easy as Hardy hopes to break into the UFC. White acknowledged it could happen if he’s talented enough, but was very hesitant when it comes to his alleged violent history.

“That doesn’t help for sure. I don’t think that helps in any career path…I don’t know. I don’t know,” White responded when asked by TMZ if Hardy’s alleged domestic violence would disqualify him from fighting in the UFC.

It seems like White is very much aware of how dumb of an idea it would be to let a man accused of beating a woman into the sport he made famous.

The NFL has screwed up on multiple different occasions when it comes to handling domestic abusers and men accused of beating women. It has resulted in the league being dragged by fans and the media. White is one of the smartest guys in sports, and there’s zero chance he hasn’t seen the pushback. I wouldn’t bet your house anytime soon that he’ll be letting Hardy into the UFC.
