It’s November 5, and the Wisconsin Badgers are the Big Ten’s only shot at winning a national championship this season.

Who would have guessed we’d all be sitting in this situation at the start of the season? All the attention was on Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan. All three of those programs have faltered mightily, and now the men in Madison are the only team capable of saving the conference.

I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised. All the “experts” can talk nonstop about how OSU and PSU were going to wipe the floor with everybody else and march to the playoff. They can both watch from their respective couches because they’re dead in the water.

However, the Badgers have roared to a 9-0 start. They control their own destiny and it’s looking very likely that they’ll be playing for a national title.

The media poured attention on everybody else but the Badgers just stayed the course with their heads kept down. Classic Wisconsin move. Let everybody else soak up the spotlight while they just win games. That’s how champions do it.

We’ll take our undefeated record and everybody else can keep ESPN’s showering of attention. Nobody thought we’d be here (except for me), and my team still isn’t getting respect. It doesn’t matter anymore. Wisconsin is marching to the top, and all the “experts” are once again wrong.
