More details are coming out about the drug and alcohol use of reinstated Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, and they’re shocking.
In fact, Gordon doesn’t think he’s ever played a game sober.
“Every game. Probably every game of my career,” he responded to GQ when asked how often he had substances in his system.
He opened up about getting under the influence prior to games and told GQ, “We would stay at the team hotel and then players are allowed to go back home, get what they need, and then go to the game. So I’d leave the hotel early morning, go home, eat breakfast, do my little ritual, whatever it may be, some weed, some alcohol, and then go to the game. And then, I’d definitely be partying after every game, win or lose. Every game.”
These details are unreal. Gordon was a dominant receiver in the NFL, and apparently was that good while never being sober. It’s an unbelievable concept. Most NFL players would get destroyed if they tried to play drunk.
All Gordon did while under the influence was dominate the league. If he was that great while on drugs and alcohol, I can’t imagine what he’ll do if he’s sober and in shape. Luckily, we’re all about to find out because he’s back with the Browns after not playing since 2014.
Should be exciting to see if he completes the comeback.
