Oddsmakers now have Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

Mayfield jumped Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, who had previously been at the top of the betting odds.

The current odds from Bovada are as follows:

Baker Mayfield -175

Saquon Barkley +150

Josh Adams +800

Bryce Love +1,000

Mason Rudolph +2,800

J.T. Barrett +3,300

Lamar Jackson +4,000

Nobody should be surprised that Mayfield is leading the pack at this point. The Sooners are dominating, and Mayfield just had a monster game against Oklahoma State. Add in the fact Barkley and PSU lost to Michigan State over the weekend, and it seems pretty reasonable for Mayfield to be at the top.

The guy’s persona on the field at times can be pretty unbearable, but nobody can question his talent when it comes to slinging the football.

Once again, I truly don’t understand how Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor isn’t on this list at all. He has more yards, touchdowns and yards per carry than Barkley. He’s always on an undefeated team, while PSU has suffered two losses with Barkley. Seems a bit ridiculous he’s not on the list at all.
