A Florida man was arrested for a DUI while on his lawnmower.

Kenneth Burton Alleshouse was arrested November 3 for pounding a few beers as he zipped around, according to WPTV. He was allegedly driving his lawnmower erratically on an access road at three times the legal limit.

This is ridiculous. I’m all for tough DUI laws for drunk driving in real vehicles, even though I come from a state where they’re really common. However, I am capable of outrunning a lawnmower. If I can out run the vehicle then it shouldn’t be possible to get a DUI while driving it.

Driving drunk in a car is insanely stupid, and the punishments should be stiff. However, driving a lawnmower honestly doesn’t seem like it’s an arrestable offence. What type of country are we living in if zipping around with a 12 pack on a lawnmower is illegal?

Again, I’m very much against driving drunk in real vehicles, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. Let this man taste freedom immediately.

P.S.: of course this happened in Florida. It’d be surprised if it didn’t take place in Florida.
