LiAngelo Ball is likely to be sentenced to house arrest for allegedly stealing from a Louis Vuitton store in China.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the following:
There is a strong likelihood that the three UCLA basketball players arrested Tuesday for shoplifting in Hangzhou, China, will face 20 days of house arrest and then not be permitted to visit the country again, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The three players, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, could serve the punishment at the hotel where the UCLA and Georgia Tech teams stayed in Hangzhou, the Hyatt Regency Hangzhou.
Ball and his two teammates are facing up to 10 years in a Chinese prison. House arrest certainly sounds a lot better than a decade locked up abroad.
It really doesn’t sound too bad when you consider the fact the sentences are going to be possibly carried out at a luxury hotel. Of course, the easiest way to avoid this entire situation is to not steal while in a foreign country.
What will also be interesting to follow is if any of the three arrested players are booted from the team. Would almost seem like a perfect time for UCLA to kick off LiAngelo if they’re tired of dealing with his loud mouth father Lavar.
