Taylor Swift’s new album has officially hit the market, and some of her lyrics are adding to the evidence that I may or may not have inspired her music.

Since I first raised that possibility, there are some people who are not buying it. Some of these people are even my coworkers.

But there is some new evidence to examine. Swift’s new song “Delicate” has lyrics that really seem to back up my theory. Let’s break down the following lyrics:

Dive bar on the East Side, where you at? / Phone lights up my nightstand in the black / Come here, you can meet me in the back / Dark jeans and your Nikes, look at you / Oh damn, never seen that color blue / Just think of the fun things we could do / ‘Cause I like you.

Very interesting stuff here. First, I pretty much exclusively hang out at dive bars. I refuse to be part of snooty high society bars. That’s not what drinking is all about. Being in a bar is about slumming it with your buddies while watching a game.

Second, everybody knows the only shoes I wear are Nikes. I refuse to wear anything else, outside of when I need to dress formally. So, here we have two more points of evidence to back up my theory.

Finally, and this is the big one, she sings “Oh damn, never seen that color blue.” If I had a dollar for every time I heard something along those lines, I’d have at least four or five dollars.

When I first heard the song “Gorgeous,” there wasn’t a ton of evidence to support my theory. It pretty much boiled down to the lines about accents and blue eyes. Now we have Swift singing about dive bars and Nikes. I don’t want to speculate, but something very interesting is happening here.

It’s also important to recognize the fact she still has yet to deny any of this. Until she does, I think the rumors will keep circulating.
