Former Tennessee football coach Butch Jones is allegedly telling recruits of the Volunteers to decommit and go elsewhere.

Tennessee commit Tanner Ingle allegedly spoke with Jones after his firing, and it wasn’t a very ethical conversation, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

“I spoke with Coach Jones about 30 minutes ago. He said he didn’t really expect that to happen, but it did so he told me to find a place to go, quickly … and that if he gets anything he will contact me,” Tanner told the Orlando Sentinel.

This is bad news if it’s true. Jones is going to be in deep trouble if this allegation is proven true. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if meddling with recruits was enough for him to forfeit the $8.2 million he’s still guaranteed from Tennessee.

How stupid does Jones have to be to think calling recruits telling them to decommit that it won’t get out? It’s one of the dumbest things you could possibly do after being fired, and it’s not exactly great for your job prospects.

Never change, Jones. Never change.
