Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy reportedly turned down an offer Tuesday to become the next football coach for the Tennessee Volunteers.
College football reporter Brett McMurphy reported the following on his Facebook page:
Mike Gundy has decided to remain at Oklahoma State and turned down an offer to become Tennessee’s coach, sources said.
Gundy met with Tennessee officials Tuesday in Dallas. Gundy had informed OSU officials of his intention to meet with Tennessee, which reportedly offered a 6-year, $42 million deal to join the Vols.

Well, looks like the optimism of Vols fans to land a superstar coach didn’t even last a full day. Gundy could have crushed it at Tennessee, but it makes sense for him not to want to leave Oklahoma State. He’s got a good thing there, a great infrastructure and it’s a program that’s capable of chasing a championship right now.
