Florida State has taken preparations in the event head football Jimbo Fisher leaves the program.
USA Today’s Dan Wolken reported that the Seminoles are preparing to go after Oregon’s Willie Taggart as a possible replacement.
“Florida State officials have started doing background work on Oregon coach Willie Taggart in preparation for the possibility Jimbo Fisher takes the Texas A&M job,” Wolken tweeted.

This is huge. There has been speculation for years that Fisher might be on his way out. Texas A&M would be the likely destination if it were to happen right now. The Aggies have apparently already started vetting Fisher.
Two sources say that as part of Texas A&M’s pursuit of Jimbo Fisher, school vetted his handling of Jameis Winston case. Aggies reached out to a few folks in NFL who did bkg work on it several years ago.

The SEC is about to get one hell of a great coach if Fisher does decide to bolt. As for Florida State? We wouldn’t know what situation and future they were facing until they hired a replacement.
