LeBron James was ejected from a game for the first time in his career on Tuesday night and the ref who tossed him from the game should be ashamed of himself.

Late in the fourth quarter, James drove to the hoop with some contact and didn’t get a foul call from the referees. As he often does, James lost his mind and complained to the ref on the near sideline who quickly gave him a technical foul and then ejected him from the game.

James’ reaction to the no call was childish and over-the-top, but Kane Fitzgerald’s reaction was equally as drastic if you ask me. And after hearing his reason for tossing The King, it’s clear the snap decision was made in fear, according to Bleacher Report.

“He turned and threw an air punch directly at me and then he aggressively charged at me and then he used vulgarity in my ear a few times,” Fitzgerald explained after the game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were beating the Miami Heat by 23 points with just two minutes to go when the ejection occurred. So, of course James was out of line to cause such a commotion about a questionable no call, but that doesn’t excuse the ref of passing out ejections out of fear.

Last night I thought the decision to eject LeBron was a little much. Now there’s no question about it.
