Pamela Anderson is willing to go to some pretty unconventional lengths for Julian Assange.

The Baywatch star was staying at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York City last night when she learned that Vice President Pence was also there. So she tried to work her charms and skirt past security to gain access to the VP’s room, all in the name of Assange.

One witness told Page Six, “The Secret Service agent practically swooned and fainted when she walked up to him and started pressing her finger on his badge. Pam said, ‘I’d like to meet the vice president.’ The agent did get it together enough to politely refuse, saying the vice president was busy.”

Pamela Anderson may not have completed her mission, but she did later reveal that she’s proud of the Vice President’s efforts to protect journalists.

“I wanted to thank [Pence] for supporting protection of sources for journalists. He is heralded for co-sponsoring proposals for a ‘federal shield law,’ which I deeply admire. This action would have allowed journalists to keep confidential sources secret — even if the government requested them. I really wanted to mention this — it is a topic close to my heart.”

She continued, gushing about her lover and WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. “Julian Assange deserves a pardon, and I thought I might be able to help. Julian is a hero to most of the world’s youth and free-minded thinking people. America needs to be on the right side of history.”

It’s no secret that the couple is pretty into each other. Anderson’s written lengthy blog posts about the Australian computer wiz, calling him “sexy” and “the most intelligent, interesting, and informed man in existence,” with “tremendous strength and stamina.”

Assange has been a bit more tight lipped about the relationship, although gushing about a Anderson wouldn’t really gel with his mysterious persona. “She’s an attractive person with an attractive personality and whip-smart,” he’s said.

Back in September, Anderson called her relationship with Assange both a friendship and an affair. But friends don’t usually try to sneak past secret service agents to gush about other friends. Just a thought.
