The first trailer for the upcoming movie “Thoroughbreds” was released Thursday, and it looks awesome.

The plot of the film, according to IMDB, is, “Two upper-class teenage girls in suburban Connecticut rekindle their unlikely friendship after years of growing apart. Together, they hatch a plan to solve both of their problems-no matter what the cost.”

It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Olivia Cooke, and Anton Yelchin. This appears to be the last movie Yelchin will ever appear in after his death. His IMDB page shows no other 2018 films being released.

I understand that this movie might seem weird to a lot of people. I get that, but I fully expect this movie to be awesome. Here’s why: I was fortunate to grow up in the Wisconsin countryside. It’s was an incredible experience that allowed me to be mostly isolated from Coasties, who appear to be the main characters in this film.

However, I spent more than enough time with my family’s business dealings, travel and school. They are pretty much exactly as portrayed in this trailer. So many of them have empty personalities, and the money is never enough to shield their problems. On a side note, it’s fascinating to see how the wealthy from different regions contrast to each other. They’re nothing a like at all. Even West coast kids with money are nothing like the ones from the East.

I would have written this movie off if the trailer didn’t seem to be so accurate. Those two girls could easily be plucked out of this movie and put in as replacement for 90% of the Coasties I’ve ever met.

This might be a shade off my usual track, but I am absolutely seeing this movie when it’s released March 9.
