Matthew Stafford’s right hand was stepped on during the Detroit Lions game against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday, but he luckily avoided a fracture.

Stafford’s hand was hit after he released the ball while attempting a comeback effort. The team announced after the game that his hand was bruised but not fractured.

The Lions dodged a massive bullet here. There was no chance they’d win more than a couple games without him in the lineup. The season’s future flashed in front of my eyes when he hit the deck.

Thankfully the star quarterback shouldn’t miss any time at all if it’s not fractured. Maybe there is hope after all for the Lions this season.
