Alabama Shouldn’t Have Made The Playoff Over Wisconsin — The Evidence Is Overwhelming

Alabama got into the college football playoff, and the more I think about it the crazier it gets.

Initially, I was pissed they got in over Ohio State. I still believe the Buckeyes had a stronger argument, but the more I ponder the issue the more I start to believe that Wisconsin also got screwed.

I watched on ESPN today as an “expert” was paid money to tell the world that it’s not Alabama’s fault that the teams on their schedule weren’t great this year. That’s pretty damn funny because the exact opposite argument has been made against Wisconsin.

Let’s break down the evidence. Alabama’s best wins come against Mississippi State and LSU. I’m not going to embarrass myself or the readers by pretending for a second that the Fresno State game is a big deal. It’s not and Alabama should be embarrassed for scheduling it. Alabama also only played eight conference games, as compared to Wisconsin’s nine conference games.

Now let’s take a look at Wisconsin’s resume. They went 12-1. They have one more win than Alabama, won their division unlike Alabama, and have wins over Michigan, Northwestern and Iowa. Any one of those three wins stacks up comparably to Alabama’s schedule.

So my main question is what the hell was the committee thinking? Not only did OSU get screwed and hosed down, but clearly evidence also tells us so did Wisconsin. It’s a sad and shameful day for college football.
