Rumors are swirling that star Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson might be on his way out the door.
News broke over the weekend that Patterson had been granted permission to speak with teams, and it didn’t take long for the internet to get set on fire.

Listen, I spoke with somebody extremely close to the situation before the season started about Patterson and Ole Miss. The individual didn’t paint a great outlook for the star quarterback, and I got the sense several months ago that he might leave the school. I thought there was a possibility he might even be out before the start of the year.
Obviously that didn’t happen, and I didn’t say much about the conversation I had with this Ole Miss insider. It now looks like he’s gone, and that’s almost certainly the right call. Ole Miss just got hit with huge sanctions, Michigan is a much better program and a change of scenario would probably do wonders for him.
On a side note, I have sat on a treasure chest worth of Ole Miss information over the past year. I had the Hugh Freeze story nearly six months before it broke and he was ousted. Still one of my biggest regrets ever that I didn’t run with what I knew at the time.
