Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott made a pretty bold claim during his game today against the Indianapolis Colts.

The game was played in the middle of a massive snow storm, and it looked brutal. However, it apparently was even worse for McDermott because he compared it what the soldiers in the military do.

He literally said the conditions were “no different” from what the military goes through.

Comparing football players in the snow to the troops seems like a little bit of a stretch here

I’ve never been deployed to fight in a war, and I stopped playing football after middle school. However, I still feel like I’m more than qualified to say that McDermott might be stretching reality.

Playing in a snow game is awesome. It’s the type of game that gets talked about for years to come. I don’t think there’s anything overly fun about getting shot at in a war zone. Call me crazy but I’m just not seeing the connection here.

This is also such a classic football guy move. You have to be out of your mind to be a great coach and you have to be out of your mind to think playing in a blizzard is the same as a war.
