LaMelo Ball and his brother LiAngelo officially inked contracts with the Lithuanian pro team Vytautas Prienai, according to Yahoo Sports.
I hate to brag, but I wrote this should happen in early October. I said the following:
LaMelo should forget about UCLA entirely. If he doesn’t want to play in high school then he should get to Europe as quickly as possible. Drop the idea of being an amateur and start making money.
There are plenty of teams in Europe that would love to have the 16 year old prodigy on their roster. He’s easily a $150,000 to $200,000 a year player in Europe. Not necessarily because of his talent, but because he would bring such a large media presence with him.
Literally nobody in the media was suggesting LaMelo should go to Europe before I was. I didn’t expect his brother, LiAngelo, to drop out of UCLA. I didn’t see that part of the story coming forward, but anybody who knows anything about European basketball could see that the youngest Ball brother was headed across the ocean.
The “experts” on ESPN and other networks had no idea what would happen, and I predicted it two months before anybody saw it coming. Now, does anybody want to ask me for my lotto numbers?
