Eminem’s new album “Revival” hit the shelves and streaming services today, and it’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I was extremely critical of his song “Untouchable” when I heard it a few days back, but I might have jumped the gun a shade too soon.

Upon coming to the office this morning, I fired up “Revival” for a quick listen. It’s not great, but it’s far from being awful. I’d rate it about a 6/10. It’s serviceable, but far from Eminem’s best work.

It does get a little preachy at time, there are plenty of anti-Trump sentiments and he raps about how Ivanka Trump is in the trunk of a car with the following lyrics from “Framed”:

Donald Duck’s on as the Tonka Truck in the yard
But dog how the f**k is Ivanka Trump in the trunk of my car
Gotta get to the bottom of it to try to solve it
Must go above and beyond, ’cause it’s incumbent upon
Me, ’cause I feel somewhat responsible for the dumb little blonde girl

Those moments are kind of cringeworthy, but “Untouchable” is by far the worst song on the album. It’s all up from there.

I’d recommend giving it a listen if you’re even a little bit of an Eminem fan. It’s way more solid than I think we all thought it would be. Again, not great, but better than we thought.
