The Carolina Panthers are going to be up for sale at the end of the NFL season and Colin Kaepernick wants in on the action.

Current Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced that he will be selling the team, which he has owned since it’s founding, on Sunday following an investigation into the sexual misconduct claims against him. It didn’t take long for some wealthy celebrities to take interest in the franchise.

Diddy was quick to make his interest known in an Instagram post in which he said he would the “best NFL owner” Panthers fans could imagine. He also said that his first move as owner of the team would be to sign Colin Kapernick to compete for the starting quarterback role with Cam Newton–a competition he would almost definitely lose.

Kaepernick himself didn’t express interest in the player role Diddy proposed, but he responded, saying he wants in on the ownership group that’s beginning to take shape.

“I want in on the ownership group! Let’s make it happen!,” Kaepernick wrote.

The reactions to the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback tweet are worth taking a look at.

Despite the fact that Diddy was the highest paid musician in 2017, the rapper is probably going to need some help purchasing the Panthers. Steph Curry already said he wants to help chip in and his $200 million contract with Golden State likely leaves him with enough change to do so. However, it’s hard to imagine how much Kaepernick could help the cause. Last I checked, being unemployed doesn’t pay so well.
