The late great Carrie Fisher may not be alive to see the latest installment of “Star Wars” bring in $220 million on opening weekend, but her very close confidant is helping to carry on her posthumous legacy.

Gary Fisher, the Instagram-verified French Bulldog, was a well known Hollywood installment that went pretty much everywhere with Carrie. He reportedly took it pretty hard when she passed.

Per the request of director Rian Johnson, Gary was featured in “The Last Jedi” as an homage to Fisher.

So it’s only natural that he was invited to a screening of “The Last Jedi” last weekend. Gary attended dressed as BB8 and his assistant reported that Gary’s ears “perked up” whenever he saw Carrie on screen.

Gary and Carrie’s relationship was unlike any other. She adopted him to help her deal with her bipolar disorder, explaining in 2013 that he “is mental also. My mother says Gary is a hooligan. Gary is like my heart. Gary is very devoted to me and that calms me down. He’s anxious when he’s away from me.”

Gary is just further proof that dogs are superior beings and we humans do not deserve them.
