Floyd Mayweather is apparently in talks to do a UFC fight, according to UFC president Dana White.

White told ESPN the following:

We’re talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal. It’s real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren’t real? He usually tips his hand when he’s in the media and then that s— ends up happening…We’re interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f—ing happened. Anything is possible.

This has to happen. You thought his boxing match with Conor McGregor was a big deal? Just wait until you see him in a cage fight with nearly no rules. It’ll be majestic.

The big questions are whom he would fight and how much money it would be worth. There’s zero chance he’s getting in the octagon with any fighter the caliber of McGregor or Nate Diaz. Mayweather could get absolutely destroyed, and the fight would be over within minutes, if not seconds. It’d be so ugly.

The UFC also doesn’t pay out nearly as much money as Mayweather is used to getting for his boxing matches. Top UFC fighters still make millions, but they’re not cashing hundred million dollar checks for fights in the octagon. Of course, they could potentially change things up a bit to get some more money that would make this more enticing for Mayweather.

Hopefully this does happen because it’d be awesome, and people will absolutely pay to watch.
