Floyd Mayweather doesn’t appear to have any interest in fighting in the UFC, despite comments from UFC president Dana White.

White had made some comments to ESPN about how the legendary boxer was in talks with the UFC. It sounds like that might not really be the case, judging from from Mayweather’s comments to FightHype.

“I’m not doing it, but I’m saying what I could do to make a billion dollars quick. I never said I was going to fight in the UFC,” the undefeated boxer said.

Well, it’d be really easy to say this puts an end to those reports, but we all know it won’t. Mayweather and White are both experts at controlling the media cycle when it comes to the fight game. I’d be shocked if they both don’t keep trying to fan the flames for as long as they can.

Personally, I wouldn’t hold your breath for that to happen. Mayweather seems to think that the UFC would provide a quick payday, which it might. However, he’s not going to get big money if he gets lit up in an early fight.

This should be fun to keep debating for the next few months until a final decision is made. Bet on this never happening.
