It’s almost the end of 2017, and that means it’s time for my movie of the year.

There’s only one movie that was ever even truly considered, and it was Jeremy Renner’s “Wind River.”

This movie was an incredible cinematic achievement. Everything about it was downright awesome. The soundtrack, the cinematography, the scoping landscape shots, the dialogue, the tension between Renner and Elizabeth Olsen and the last 30 minutes were some of the best I’ve ever seen on screen.

“Wind River” was as dark as you could get at times, and at others it felt incredibly inspiring. I spent some substantial time living in Montana, and it’s not all that different from Wyoming. I can tell you that this movie did justice to the culture of the West, the toughness of the people and the atmosphere of the area. The climate and outdoors is an actual character in the movie. It can kill you if you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s the exact same way in real life.

It’s a shame “Wind River” won’t get the respect it deserves from the major award shows, but we’re here to shine a light on the truth. Renner gave the performance of a lifetime, and Olsen could also easily be given an Academy Award for her role. The movie was nonstop greatness from the opening credits through the final scene.

Stop whatever you’re doing right now, and got get this movie if you haven’t seen it already. I promise you that it’s worth it.

*STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE YET. THERE IS A MAJOR SPOILER COMING. STOP READING.*

The shootout scene at the end is one of the coolest shootout scenes I’ve ever seen. Watching Renner snipe those bad guys was awesome, and I wanted to stand up and cheer in the theater.
