USC Trojans quarterback Sam Darnold doesn’t seem to care one bit about which NFL team will draft him.

He discussed his future in the NFL ahead of the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State, and told the media, “Whenever I come out to go to the NFL, I think I’d be honored to play for any team. It’s been a dream of mine for such a long time to play in the NFL. Any team that would want to give me that opportunity to be a part of their organization, it would mean the world to me.”

This is what NFL general managers like to hear, and it’s pretty much the exact opposite of what we’re hearing out of the reports swirling around UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen. He doesn’t seem the least bit interested in playing for the Cleveland Browns. That’d make me very cautious if I was an NFL executive.

The same can’t be said of Darnold. I want the guy who just has a passion for the game and wants to play. Put that guy in my locker room any day of the week. It’s pretty early to start making predictions, but I think Darnold will make a great pro.
