“Ahhh this so sad,” Ringwald’s character said to Sheedy’s in a clip shared on Vulture. “You’re washing your hands, but you’ll eat food inches away from a live toilet?”
In response Sheedy’s character, Allison, proceeds to eat a potato chip out of the bathroom sink.
The scene is part of a nearly hour-long collection of footage of previously unreleased material that’s included in Criterion Collection’s re-release of the movie on January 2.
Another part includes a new video essay sharing director Hughes’ production notes read by one of the stars of the movie, Judd Nelson. It also includes a new interview with stars of the teen drama Sheedy and Ringwald.
“Five high school students meet in Saturday detention and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought,” a description about the classic read on IMDb.
Other stars of the classic include Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall and Paul Gleason.
