The Big Ten’s bowl games are over, and the conference went an impressive 7-1.

Ohio State smacked USC, Penn State beat Washington and Wisconsin dominated Miami. The only loss the conference took was to South Carolina after Michigan blew a 19-3 lead.

It’s pretty strange that the Big Ten went 7-1 in their bowl games after almost every single “expert” on the payroll of a major sports network claimed the conference was dead. PSU, Wisconsin and OSU all looked like national championship caliber teams in their bowl games. The playoff committee looks like a group of complete morons.

I hate to point this out, but I was pretty much the only person in the media who said all year long that the Big Ten was the best conference. The bowl records of conferences back me up. The SEC, a conference so many “experts” want you to believe is the best, is currently a laughable 2-5.

It’s so weird. It’s almost like most of the “experts” have no idea what the hell they’re talking about. I wish we’d gone 8-0, but I guess expecting Harbaugh and company to beat a slightly above average South Carolina team is way too much to ask. I should have known that. Hand up. That’s on me. My expectations were too high and unrealistic.

As for the other seven teams, job well done. The Big Ten is once again the crown jewel of college football. I said they were all year and I was just laughed at. Well, nobody is laughing anymore.
