Christian Bale stated in a recent interview that he hasn’t seen either of the films in which Ben Affleck plays Batman.

Bale stated the following in an interview with on The Happy Sad podcast with Josh Horowitz :

I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it—I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.

Well, I’m happy to hear this from Bale. He’s been spared from the horrific acting job of Affleck. Most of us suffered an unbelievable fate watching Affleck become the legendary superhero character. He’s simply awful.

The unfortunate part is that Bale made Batman even cooler than he already was. He was a tortured character who flirted with the line between good and bad on a regular basis. He wasn’t just some pure dude out there fighting crime. He came dangerously close to becoming what he feared most. Bale brought that character to life in a real, dark and believable way. The Dark Knight trilogy were three of the best movies I’ve ever seen. You read that last sentence correctly. I didn’t say some of the best superhero movies. I said some of the best movies ever made.

Affleck’s Batman is a sad joke. It’s like going from playing in the NBA finals to playing in your college intramural playoffs. Just a pathetic letdown.
