After much speculation, the Oakland Raiders have selected Jon Gruden as their next head coach.
Gruden’s name has come up in consideration for just about every high-profile coaching job, college and pro, for years, but it sounds like the celebrated coach turned broadcaster will finally return to the sidelines next season.

The Raiders will officially interview Gruden on Monday, but the position is already his, according to multiple reports. The team plans to introduce him as their next head coach during a news conference on Tuesday.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders are seeking a long-term deal with Gruden to potentially lock him in for 10 years at the helm. If they are able to secure the deal they want, the franchise could end up paying him around $100 million over that time.
Sources: The #Raiders seek a long-term commitment from new coach Jon Gruden and they are preparing a 10-year contract for Gruden. The expectation is that it eclipses $100M.

Unfortunately NFL fans will lose Gruden’s unparalleled commentating in the booth on Monday Night Football, but his antics on the sidelines will surely be equally as entertaining.
