It’s radio shock-jock Howard Stern’s birthday on Friday. In honor of his day, we decided to find some of the most memorable moments he’s had on-air.

While he has appeared on the big and small screen, the 64-year-old radio and television personality is best known as the host of “The Howard Stern” radio show. It became a nationally syndicated program in 1986 and ran until 2005, before he signed with the satellite based radio network Sirus XM, where he has been since 2006.

The radio host single-handedly changed the way morning radio shows operated after he burst on to the scene in 1976 in Boston. Over the next few years, he worked in radio stations across the mid-west and east coast where he developed the on-air radio persona that made him a world-wide celebrity. Stern shared his story in his 1993 book titled “Private Parts.” That book was made into a biographical comedy movie four years later.
