The third season of HBO’s hit show “True Detective” won’t be released until 2019.

HBO programming president Casey Bloys told The Hollywood Reporter that fans would need to wait until 2019 for one of the best shows ever made to return.

We also already know that Mahershala Ali will be the star of season 3, and it will be set in the Ozarks over three different time periods. Other that, we don’t exactly have a ton of information on what to expect.

I don’t know about you guys, but waiting until 2019 is just way too long for me to be happy about.

The first season of “True Detective” was incredible. I was glued to the screen for every single second. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey were something special together on screen. They’re one of the better acting duos we’ve ever seen without a doubt.

I thought season two got a lot of criticism that it didn’t deserve. Was it as great as season one? No, but it was still solid. It was mostly a victim of unrealistic expectations after the first season success.

All I hope for with season three is that it’s entertaining as hell and intriguing. I’ll be satisfied if HBO gives us that.
