The Indianapolis Colts are expected to hire New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their head coach, according to two NFL insiders.
Wrote a couple weeks ago: If Josh McDaniels wanted the #Colts job, it was probably his. Wild card with McDaniels was if #Titans fired Mike Mularkey. Well, here we go …

The #Colts have held strong with their pursuit of #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels and that is expected to be his choice when an offer comes, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

According to Rapaport, the Colts were also considering Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel but ultimately decided to go with McDaniels instead.
Tom Pelissero reports that McDaniels is expected to make Matt Eberflus his defensive coordinator as well.
With Josh McDaniels ticketed for the #Colts, former #Cowboys assistant Matt Eberflus is expected to come along as defensive coordinator, I’m told. Lot of parts falling in place now.

McDaniels will probably get a pretty warm welcome in Indianapolis. He’ll be fresh off a successful working relationship with Tom Brady and poised to take Andrew Luck under his wing. While the Colts still need to fill their roster with more talent, adding a successful former Pats offensive coordinator to their head coach position is likely a step in right the direction.
