Steven Seagal hit back at accusations of sexual misconduct Monday saying, that accusers “have lied and been paid to lie” about him, according to the Wrap.

“I really, really resent the way people have lied and been paid to lie about me without any evidence, any proof, any witnesses,” the 65-year-old actor explained during his appearance on InfoWars. “And you know I think without any due process, is a tremendous violation of an American and America ethics, morals and constitution.” (RELATED: Jenny McCarthy Resurfaces Sexual Harassment Claims Against Steven Seagal)

“I think that this an outrage,” he added. “And I think it’s not just me, it is happening to hundreds of people and I think its got to stop.”

“This is just a complete tragedy,” he continued. “I can tell you that 40 percent of these claims are false. There is a whole force of people gathering around the world now putting in lots of money and lots of time investigation people who are coming are coming after us. The people who are being paid to lie and the people who are paying them to lie are going to be exposed.”

The response comes after the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed last week that they had opened an investigation into a sexual assault accusation against the actor stemming from a 2005 incident. The move comes after several women have accused the action star in recent weeks of a variety of sexual misconduct allegations, which include claims by actresses Jenny McCarthy, Portia de Rossi, Rae Dawn Chong and Regina Simons.
