Nick Saban interviewed former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze yesterday to be his new offensive coordinator, according to Clay Travis.

This hire would be absolutely huge if Saban gets it done. It’d be bigger than most head coaching hires in terms of moving the needle in the college football world.

I know Ole Miss fans are pretty split on Freeze as a person after he was abruptly fired for allegedly orderin’ up some escorts. However, there’s no debate on whether or not the guy can coach. His offenses as Ole Miss were absolutely sickening. He was was one of the few coaches that regularly gave Saban serious problems, who he beat twice.

These facts can’t be overlooked, and you can bet the house that’s why Saban is talking to him. Giving Freeze control of that offense would be incredible, especially with the young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa under center.

Things could get very interesting in the SEC if Saban pulls the trigger on this hire, and by interesting I mean that Alabama won’t have a league game within single digits next season.
