We’re getting close to game time for the premiere of the upcoming mini-series “WACO” on the Paramount Network.

Hold on to your butts.

The plot of the series, according to IMDB, is, “The FBI and ATF seize religious leader, David Koresh’s Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas in the spring of 1993.”

There trailers have been released for the series, which stars Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch, and the previews make it look like viewers are in for an intense ride.

The events that took place in Waco, Texas are some of the most infamous moments in modern American history. David Koresh’s compound went up in flames, and the complete truth of what happened will almost never be known, nor will the answer to the question of who shot first.

That’s why I’m so excited to see Shannon and Kitsch play this out in the mini-series. Both are incredible actors that are capable of going dark if necessary. It should be an awesome series, even though we all know how it ends.

“WACO” will be released January 24.
