Mel Kiper might have hit a new low in his career as an NFL draft analyst after former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf wrecked him on Twitter.
Kiper has been taking some serious heat for having Josh Allen as the top pick in his 2018 NFL mock draft. Leaf apparently agrees with the criticism. It all started when Barrett Sallee tweeted, “Mel Kiper’s No. 1 overall player in the NFL Draft finished eighth in completion percentage, seventh in passer rating and sixth in passing YPG in the Mountain West.”

Leaf tweeted back, “Then again he picked me ahead of Peyton too, just sayin!!”

Yikes. Things are really going downhill fast if Leaf is firing kill shots on Twitter. It’s also nice to see that Leaf is able to poke fun at his short NFL career. He was selected by the San Diego Chargers and flamed out after problems with substance abuse.
He’s made an impressive recovery and now does some sports commentating. You know a guy can’t be taking himself too seriously when he’s also roasting himself.
While we’re here, let’s not forget another hilarious Kiper fail. The guy thought Russell Wilson wouldn’t be a star in the NFL.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper on Russell Wilson: “He’s a Seneca Wallace type. I think he goes in that 4th-round area & has a serviceable NFL career.”

“A serviceable NFL career” is one of the most laughable predictions I’ve ever heard.
