I sat down over the weekend to watch “Band of Brothers” for about the fiftieth time, and it was a great reminder that the mini-series is a classic.

The HBO series based off a Stephen Ambrose book tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. It’s an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.

Those men saw the worst of humanity, and they saw a side of human nature that nobody should ever witness. That’s what makes their story so incredible.

They jumped in behind enemy lines on D-Day, fought in Operation Market Garden and held the line at Bastone during the Battle of the Bulge.

I can’t imagine the horror that went through their minds as German artillery rained down in the freezing temps. Even worse, I can’t imagine how terrified the Germans were when they realized they couldn’t break the backs of the brave American paratroopers.

I’m sure most of you reading this right now have already seen “Band of Brothers.” However, if you haven’t then I suggest grabbing a beer, firing up HBO and not leaving your house until you finish.

You won’t be disappointed.
