The stage is set for Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, and the “wise guys” in Vegas seem to be pretty confident that Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will be bringing home another Lombardi Trophy.
The Eagles are the biggest Super Bowl underdogs since 2009. Here is a handful of the opening lines:
- Westgate (NE -5.5)
- Caesars Palace (NE -5.5)
- MGM (NE -5.5)
- Sunset Station (NE -5.5)
- Wynn Race and Sports Book (NE -6.5)
I doubt Philadelphia is offended by these opening lines. They’ve actually embraced the underdog role this postseason – encouraging fans to wear dog masks to the stadium. Eagles’ offensive lineman Lane Johnson even brought his own mask to wear in Sunday’s postgame celebration.

It’s amazing that despite losing MVP candidate quarterback Carson Wentz to a torn ACL, the Eagles were able to rally around journeyman Nick Foles and punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.
Whatever the outcome of Super Bowl LII, history will be made. We’ll either witness one of the most unimaginable championship runs in recent history by the Philadelphia Eagles. Or, the continuation of New England Patriots dynasty with their sixth Super Bowl championship since 2001.
