After the Eagles’ momentous win on Sunday, reactions from fans across Philadelphia began to make their way onto social media. Some of the fan reactions were joy-filled and euphoric. Some were just so satisfyingly gritty.

But there was one fan that stood out. It was a man so impassioned, so filled with love for his team, that he basically ran through a SEPTA pole for them.

Here it is from another angle, because why not?

Unsurprisingly, the guy in this clip went absolutely viral yesterday. He was shared countless times by most sports bloggers and even made the rounds on the national evening news.

And although it gets funnier every time you watch it, I paused somewhere around my 500th view  to wonder — is this guy still alive?

So I did some digging and my Eagles spider senses sent me straight to the source.

His name is Jigar Desai, he’s still alive, and he wants America to know that he’s “a mild mannered person generally.”

He also made the rounds on Fox 29 last night, in full Eagles garb of course.

I think the best part of the interview is when he’s asked if it’s scarier to watch it back a second time. He gets that look of panic that most people get when they’re told what they did the night before on a drunken bender. It’s a brief “oh……..no………” look.

A close second is when he’s asked how he became an Eagles fan, to which he responds, “I was a 10-pound baby born in India. I moved to the states at a very young age, about a year and a half. And I grew up to be an Eagles fan. It doesn’t make any sense, right?”

God bless the people of Philadelphia. And may the Eagles ever fly.*

It ultimately doesn’t matter because I love my team enough to let them ruin my life.
