Former Alabama football star and current Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey was arrested in Tuscaloosa for allegedly stealing a phone charger.

NFL.com reported the following.

Baltimore Ravens rookie cornerback Marlon Humphrey was arrested earlier this month by University of Alabama police on misdemeanor harassment and theft charges, according to records obtained by NFL.com.

Humphrey, a former Alabama player, was arrested Jan. 13 on suspicion of harassment and stealing a charger listed at $15 in value, according to the police report.

This is one of the weirdest NFL player arrests I’ve ever heard of. A phone charger? Are you kidding me? I’d pay a thousand dollars for a phone charger before I ever risked getting arrested. Obviously it’s just an allegation, but this is wild if he’s convicted.

Here’s what you do if you have a bunch of money and you’re accused of stealing something worth essentially no money. It’s a very simple process. You open up your wallet, break off a few hundred bucks, hand it to them and move on with your life. Humphrey is on a nearly $12 million contract. You think he’s going to miss $500? Of course he isn’t.

I hope he elects to take this thing to trial because I need to know the details.
