March Madness Without Wisconsin Is Like Going To A Party To Be Ignored By Women
March Madness is about a month away, and I’m finding it extremely difficult to get my spirits up.
The problem is obviously that my beloved Wisconsin Badgers almost certainly won’t be playing in it this year. That’s a tough pill to swallow, but people forget that life isn’t always spectacular. We go through tough times, but I didn’t expect it be so hard.
Will I still watch and bet a few months salary? Probably. Worked out well last year for me. Not so well in other years. Here’s how I’m gradually starting to view the situation. March Madness without Wisconsin is like being told you can go to a fun party with tons of beer, a great atmosphere, some of your buddies, some good music, tons of hot women and there’s zero chance you’re going home with any of them. No matter what happens the women just won’t be an option that’s on the table. You will strike out with every shot.
Do you still go to the party? Of course you’re still going to the party, but in the back of your mind you know that it just doesn’t feel right.
That’s the situation I’m currently in. I’m going to go to that party, drink a bunch of beer and probably have a good time. There’s nothing wrong with that, but knowing with absolute certainty that I will strike out will take a toll.
I’m going to watch March Madness, I’m going to drink, I’m going to gamble but I know I can’t win. It’s painful, but it’s the truth. I guess there’s always next year/the next party.
