Canadian curler Rachel Homan’s husband Shawn Germain showed up to support her Monday, and he brought plenty of beer.

Germain went viral after photos started circulating of him double fisting beers as he watched. It’s pretty impressive because he did it at nine in the morning local time in South Korea.

I don’t know about you guys, but I love this move. It also makes a lot more sense when you consider the fact that Germain is former minor league hockey player. Everybody knows that hockey guys always show up to crush beers. That’s day one stuff and the championship mentality.

There are probably some people out there wondering why he had to double fist. Let me be crystal clear here. Double fisting is the only move you have in this situation, and I know that for a fact. I’m so pro-double fisting that it’s almost embarrassing, but there’s a science behind it. Nobody wants to wait in line for their next beer. You stall the return to the beer stand by just getting two at a time. He clearly wants to watch his wife make some moves, and that means he can’t be running around for a new beer every couple minutes. He’s got to have the second one ready to go immediately.

I went to Cleveland for the RNC in the summer of 2016. It was a wild time, and I double fisted at every possible opportunity. I was looked at like a zoo animal. The people had no idea what I was doing, and didn’t understand the concept. Well, they certainly seemed to understand it better when the lines at the Kid Rock concert where a mile long, and I was still just crushing my cold beers.

Major props to Germain for stealing the show by having the courage and resolve to crush beers in the morning for his wife.
