Jennifer Lawrence and her castmates are in London this week to promote the upcoming film “Red Sparrow.” While a majority of the event was held indoors, Lawrence and several of her colleagues slipped outside for a photo op.

Plenty of people thought Jennifer Lawrence looked fantastic but other, more politically charged Twitter users found fault in her fashion.
BuzzFeed UK News Editor Elizabeth Pears jumped on the opportunity to shame Lawrence for not covering up properly.

Deputy Editor of the notoriously liberal British magazine New Statesman Helen Lewis took things a step further by claiming Lawrence’s outfit revealed sexism.
“This is such a quietly depressing (and revealing) image,” she tweeted. “Not least because I’ve been outside today and it’s bloody FREEZING.”

But if it was much warmer inside — say, 72ish degrees Fahrenheit — wouldn’t the men then be sweating in their thick overcoats and heavy boots? Would that not then be reverse sexism?

If I wasn’t familiar with mainstream 2018 liberalism, I’d think these women were the most chauvinistic chicks on the block. They might still be. I thought feminism was all about parading your body around for everyone to embrace. I must have missed the memo that says it’s now progressive to demand women cover themselves up. Whatever happened to “my body, my choice?”
Feminists have pushed so hard for tolerance and empowerment that they’re actually driving the narrative closer to sharia law than true equality. Bullying another woman for her wardrobe is what oppressive regimes and petty middle schoolers do. And these so-called progressive women just sidled up next to them. What a league of titans.
Red Sparrow, which premieres March 2, 2018, involves several nude scenes of Jennifer Lawrence. It will be interesting to see whether feminists view this as empowering art or disdainful objectification. It’ll probably depend on which way the wind is blowing.
