Is It Too Early To Give Wisconsin Basketball The National Championship Trophy?

Wisconsin basketball has now won three in a row, and I’m starting to wonder if we’re a lock for the national championship.

The Badgers beat Northwestern last night in impressive fashion. It was a scoring bonanza we haven’t seen since the days of at least 12 months ago. My guy Khalil Iverson also looked like his old self as he put on a dunking clinic.

Now, I know that you’re all thinking I’m crazy. The Badgers are only 14-16. How could they possibly get in the tournament? I understand the question, and the insanity of this situation.

Just hear me out. We’re playing as hot as you can get right now. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants us on the court. Not Duke, not Virginia and not anybody else. We’ve got Michigan State to close out the season in a few days. Things are going to get real wild if we manage to pull that one out.

Imagine the storyline if the Badgers rattle off four straight wins to close out the season, and then win the Big Ten tournament. You’re talking about something they’ll write movie scripts about.

Crazier things have happened, and I’m a big believer in the underdog. So, let’s get ready to rumble as we chase a championship down the stretch.
